Software engineer · builder · problem solver
Riad Hossen
I turn complex ideas into dependable software experiences.
I am a Software Engineer passionate about building scalable software that solves real-world problems.
Currently pursuing a Master of Science in Computer Science at Georgia Tech and working as a Software
Engineering Intern at IBM, I continue to expand my expertise across software engineering, artificial
intelligence, robotics, and full-stack development.
My experience includes designing and developing enterprise software, full-stack web applications,
RESTful APIs, automation tools, and AI-driven solutions. I have worked with technologies including Java,
Python, C++, JavaScript, React, Node.js, Express.js, MySQL, MongoDB, Git, and GitHub, with a strong focus
on writing clean, maintainable, and scalable code.
Beyond software development, I am passionate about artificial intelligence and robotics. I previously
conducted robotics research at the University of Houston-Downtown and mentored high school students in
computer science and robotics, helping them strengthen their technical knowledge and problem-solving
abilities. I enjoy continuously learning new technologies, collaborating with talented teams, and building
software that creates meaningful impact.
Experience
Software Engineering Intern
Contribute to the development of enterprise software solutions within IBM's software engineering
organization, collaborating with engineers to design tools that improve developer productivity and
enhance software quality. Develop Flow Service Language (FSL) code examples and technical resources
for IBM webMethods Integration Server, helping customers better understand enterprise integration
and automation workflows.
Design and implement an automated flaky test analysis tool that helps developers identify, reproduce,
and diagnose intermittent failures in GitHub Actions workflows. The project aims to reduce debugging
time, improve CI/CD reliability, and streamline the software development process through automation
and intelligent error analysis.
Work in an Agile development environment while applying software engineering best practices, including
version control, code reviews, testing, and collaborative problem-solving to deliver scalable and
maintainable solutions.
Computer Science Teacher
Instructed students on a wide range of computer science topics, including programming fundamentals, web development, and robotics. Taught students how to write, test, and debug code using Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other programming technologies. Delivered AP Computer Science coursework covering object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and software design principles. Guided students through hands-on projects involving web application development and robotics, including programming robotic systems, integrating sensors and motors, and controlling hardware through code. Designed engaging, project-based lessons that fostered problem-solving, critical thinking, and technical skills while preparing students to apply their knowledge to real-world challenges.
